The Christmas craziness is almost upon us, so I’ll be taking the rest of the year off to find me some holly-jolliness. I think I left a little in the pocket of an old pair of pants…
I wish you all a joyous holiday season!
Don’t forget to have fun!

Sorry for my very late reply. My vaycay was technology-free.
I did library time with my 2nd and 3rd graders yesterday. We talked about a somewhat obscure holiday called Tom Bawcock’s Eve (Dec 23) and read Antonia Barber’s book, The Mousehole Cat,, a beautifully written and illustrated story about the wee town of Mousehole (pronounced “Mowzel”). It’s a wonderful holiday story to read to kids, but like so many good children’s books, it’s difficult to find, so you may need to trot down to your library to find it. Happy Holidays!!
I am intrigued by Tom Bawcock’s Eve. Never heard of it. Do you think the holiday in need of the picture book treatment? (I’ve also been contemplating a Boxing Day book for years.)
Oh, and sorry for my very late reply, Jilanne. My vaycay was technology-free.
The Mousehole Cat has the picture book territory covered. Check it out at your library. The illustrations are beautiful.
I think Boxing Day may be ripe for the picking.
Happy New Year!
Will do, Jilanne. I’ll check it out.
Enjoy your Vaycay! Love that term. And your son is adorable. 🙂
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thanks! I think he’s adorable too! 🙂
Here’s hoping your holiday was joyous, Tracy!
Merry Happy and Happy Merry, Mike!
I think you for your happy merries! Here’s hoping you had quite a few of ’em this holiday season!
BTW: Do forgive the lateness of my reply. My vaycay was technology free. It was sublime.
Happy Holiday, Mike and all the other Allegras! See you next year — now that the world has not ended… ;-D
I know you were so looking forward to the Mayan Prophesy coming true. I guess they forgot the carry the one.
Merry Christmas to you and your family Mike! 😀 😀 😀

Have you had any luck with finding a regular writing gig?
Happy New Year Mike! No, not yet..and now I’m leaving for Rwanda for three weeks, which will also be mostly tech free, apart from the odd internet cafe visit…will see where I’m at when I get back. Enjoy the beginning of 2013!
Wow! Sounds like quite an adventure!

Mike, Awesome photo. Hope you’re having a fun break.
We got a great Christmas card from friends who have three kids. The 2-year-old is tying up the two older kids with strings of lights. The caption reads: Dear Santa, Can you be more specific about the meaning of the word “naughty”? We’re asking for a friend.
That is a wonderful card idea! My gears are already turnin’ for 2013.
Oh, and do forgive the lateness of my reply. My vaycays are usually tech-free.
I look forward to catching up on your posts!
Okay. Vacation’s over. Where are ya? Hoping your vacation was restful and all is okay.
It’s nice to know I was missed!
I’ll have a new post first thing tomorrow.
Yay!
