Holy cow!
I had no idea the Allegra Doodling Market was so strong. Last week’s contest was my most popular blog post ever!
I am flattered and I thank you.
Unfortunately, there can only be one doodle winner. So let’s get down to brass tacks, shall we?
Our judge and official ballot picker is ready for action. He is fair, impartial, and likes to wear weird hats.
He drops the ballots into the Bucket of Impartiality.
He wields the Tongs of Selectivity-ness.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP STIRRING!
Just pick a name, kid! Everyone is waiting!
Let this be a lesson for all you parents out there. If you don’t spank your children, they will grow up to become goofballs. And wear strange hats.
OK. I think Hat Boy is ready now.
And the winner is…
Congrats, Jo! You win the grand prize! an Original Mike Allegra Doodle of whatever you want! So head on up to the “Hire Me!” menu and send me an email so we can get the ball rolling.
But that’s not all! You ALSO win an original Mike Allegra Story that will contain the five words you posted last week:
Weatherwax
Jelly
Books
Nuts
Zimbabwe
Congrats again, Jo!
And thanks to everyone who entered! See you next week!
I’m jealous….but the cupcakes may have been quite stale by the time they made it to you!! 😉
What? You mean you were *not* going to FedEx them?
Those border crossings can be treacherous when cupcakes are involved. Nothing is safe!
Trumps wall isn’t going to extend to Canada, is it?
Apparently he would like a wall between the US and Canada. His hair would probably work! :O
His ego is just as large, but much more fragile.
Lol….well played!!
Rats! But Wonderful. Congrats to Jo and I can’t wait to see the doodle and read the story. And I like the official ballot picker’s hat – very dapper!
Thank you Diana! 🙂
I will let the judge know that you approve of his wardrobe. The hat was a St. Patrick’s Day gift from his crazy aunt.
Reblogged this on Chris The Story Reading Ape's Blog.
FABULOUS, FABULOUS, FABULOUS!! And THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I’m off to the Hire Me now – WOOOOT! 😀
Goodness mercy me! What enthusiasm!
Reblogged this on Jo Robinson and commented:
I WON, I WON, I WON!!!!! This is most COOL!!!!!
I’m so glad you’re happy, Jo, but I think it’s time for you to use your indoor voice.
Woo hoo! Great doodle. Fun words for the win.
Yep. Good words. And it looks like my story is taking place in Africa.
Congratulations Jo! Loved all the pictures of your son — looks like he has a lot of “Dad” in him. This is such an amazing site.
Thanks Patricia! That little green-hatted fellow is a superhero and a genius – gorgeous too.
He does have a bit of his father in him — but he pulls off a hat much better than I could.
You go Jo! Congrats… Anxious to see your doodle and read your story! ❤
Thanks Annette – me too! Got a little bit shouty there in the excitement. ❤
Yay for Jo! (I’ve gotta stop crying. I will, soon, I promise. Sob…) Great contest, Mike. Can’t wait to read your story with those great words! Your son just gets more and more adorable (don’t tell him I said that – tell him I said handsome. And he is a handsome devil.) P.S. Did he borrow your hat?
Oh, pish, you are among the lucky few to be duly doodled!
And I agree with you; the kid is both adorable and handsome. And he can pull off a green hat; no small feat, that.
You can pish all you want, but I moan and drone, whine and whimper because I know how delightful it is to own a one-of-a kind delightfully enchanting Allegra doodle.
As usual, you are too kind.
Congratulations, Jo, how fun! Loved the post and can’t wait for the story!
Thanks for entering, Ladieswholunchreviews. Be sure to check back here for future doodle contests.
Will do!
Congrats to Jo! Mike, you are one talented artist. 😊
Aw, thanks, Tracy!
Congratulations, Jo!!
Dang, I knew I shouldn’t have used the word ‘otoscope.’
Big congrats to the winner! These contests are lots of fun. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
That’ll teach ya!
And I can’t wait to see what Jo will ask me to draw!
Lucky Jo! Can’t wait to see the doodle and read the story! (And as for spanking, I got spanked plenty and I still turned out a goofball… although I don’t wear hats! 🙂 )
Oh, well. Being a goofball is not nearly as bad as wearing weird hats.
Sadly, Robin Newman will never understand this.
Congrats to Jo! Can’t wait to read the story, containing those words! The selection process is almost as hilarious as your writing. 😀
My boy does know how to entertain.
There’s no doubt about it…people love contests and free stuff. And art. Your selection method is more fun than a room full of ping pong ball lottery machines.
I agree with you. I’d much rather spend time with my son than a lottery machine.
Congrats, Jo! 🙂
Congratulations, Jo!!! I love your enthusiasm…:D 😀
Alex is stealing the show! 😉
As is his wont.
Very funny. Great kid. And what the heck is weatherwax?
Zimbabwe–nice.
I have no idea what weatherwax is, but I’ll come up with something.
Great fun! Congratulations, Jo!
Glad you liked it, Ali!
congrats to the winner! (mumble bumble grumble pumble – I know I know – no such word! Crumble)
Pumble should be a word.
How did I miss Doodlepalooza??? I think I was traveling when you held this very creative event! Love it, Mike! Oh well, I’m sure you could guess my 5 words if you tried hard enough… would have made an awesome doodle too! Your son is adorable (but don’t tell him that… say he’s “cool” instead, okay?!)
I don’t know how you missed it! I was so looking forward to your entry — using words like thimbles, rotting fruit, falling, Christmas tree, and such. Oh, well, keep your eyes peeled, my friend. There will be another doodle contest in the summer.
And I shall tell the boy you found him “cool.”
So funny, I often call my son “the boy” as well! I promise I won’t miss the summer festivities… I really was traveling – in Pittsburgh, taking photos at a wedding I wasn’t invited to! So there’s another wacky story from me to tide you over 🙂
A wedding crasher, eh? I shall add this tidbit to your dossier.
Ooh that sounds mysterious, like you’re the secret service, Mike! lol
I got my eye on you!
Uh-oh! 🙂
Congrats to Ms. Robinson! I actually like your son’s weird hat. 😉 I’m really curious to see what story you write with those words! 🙂
Well, *of course* you like his hat. Your head is almost always be-hatted. You two (and Robin Newman) are kindred spirits.
Yay! Maybe we could form a hat club! 😉
Congrats Jo! Can’t wait to see what the doodle is.
Keep your eyes peeled, Sonshine. The doodle will be unveiled on this blog tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up!
