As many of you know, I am pro-rodent (or “prodent”). So it is only right that I should periodically have a meet ‘n’ greet with a giant mouse in Florida.
Because of this, I won’t be able to do much of anything on this blog for the next two weeks.
But don’t worry; my pet rat, Lucy, promised to write something pithy during my absence.

Here’s hoping she’ll keep her profanity in check. For once.
Enjoy, Mike! I look forward to Lucy’s wit and wisdom (and vocabulary) and expect full reports and pics when you return!
Will do!
Have fun! And please do come back with some Mike-esque stories about the good people watching there.
I’ll give it a go!
Lucy – looking forward to reading all your pithy and profanity-free wisdom during WriterFellow’s absence. Be nice to the person who fills your bottle and bowl during his absence!
Keep her well behaved, won’t you?
I am nice to only those who deserve it.
But you seem pretty cool. You strike me as a prodent person. Amirite?
Ooh! Have fun in Disney World Mike! Looking forward to hearing what Lucy has to say. She’s so cute! 🙂
Thanks!
Lucy is a little imp. During her short tenure in the Allegra house she has escaped from her cage five times. No joke.
Have fun! Can’t wait to see what Lucy has to say in your absence. I’ll let you know if she swears up and down :P.
I’m regretting giving her my password already. She seems to be working on some sort of Chris Rock routine.
Have fun! Mickey was doing well when I visited him in January!
I was planning to go in January!
Then I broke my toe and Ellen got the flu; we took it as a sign.
Have fun, all of you. I’m sure Lucy will keep us all on our toes while you’re gone! xoxoM
We shall see…
Well now you’ve put a lot of pressure on Lucy, as you’ve got us all a flurry with excitement! Have fun with the mouse (does Lucy consider this “cheating on her?”)
Dang. The speed and giddiness of everyone’s replies makes me think that I should close the HeyLookAWriterFellow store and begin anew with a Profane Rat Blog.
I’ll settle for a postcard from your family and my very favorite mouse. I’ll be heading down with Dana’s family in July to celebrate how well she’s doing and my 70th birthday. Have a fantasmic time!!
Oh, you’ll get a souvenir! Give Dana my love and good wishes.
Our neighbours are going there tomorrow, would be funny if you saw them. Hannah asks to go there every single day. Have a great time!
Oh, give me some info on ’em! I’ll find them in the park and claim we went to the same high school.
LoL Millers. Dare you to charge dinner to them, just kidding 😉
Now give me the name of one of their English teachers and one of the school plays they starred in.
Too funny!
Have a fun trip, take lot’s of pictures and post them when you get back. So we can be jealous 😉
Will do.
TWO WEEKS at Disney? Man, as if I weren’t envious before, now I’m positively EMERALD with jealousy. That means I have a little more time to write my inaugural Historical Dirt post, though, so that’s good. Because it would be silly to post it when the person it’s dedicated to is waiting on line for the Jungle Cruise.
Oh, goodness, no! I’m spending just one week at The Happiest Place on Earth. I’m turning over Week Two to my rat, Lucy, while I catch up on missed work and re-adjust to my decidedly unmagical, non-Disney life.
Lucy will be so happy to have the quality time with you, though.
Time with a rodent is always quality time.
This is where I should refrain from saying, “Funny, my cats say the same thing!”
You can not begin to imagine the stream of cuss words coming from Lucy’s cage.
I can hear them, don’t worry. You don’t live that far from me.
Cool, I’ve always wanted to go! Lucky you – have fun:-) I’m sure Lucy will keep us suitably entertained till your back…with photos please.
Photos. Gotcha.
I haven’t been to Disneyworld, but I have been to Disneyland a number of times. The last few times I went, my brother and I (both adults) purchased the kids pirate sword, and proceeded to have fencing duels while waiting in line. We also believe in waving to people as they pass by on the train, or ride and see who waves back.
Hope you have an awesome time.
Considering that you sometimes drive to Utah for ice cream, this does not surprise me.
Speaking of ice cream, the Tiki room at Disneyland has amazing Dole pineapple frozen yogurt. I also found this at a Menchie’s once.
This is well worth waiting in line for, if they have it at Disneyworld – unless you are allergic to pineapple.
That is the best place ever to throw up after riding too many rides.Have a blast and be sure to eat way too much junk food.
We will have a blast, I’m sure. But we will try to avoid the throwing up part.
Smart move, Disney World after spring break and before summer hits the streets.
Two weeks? Lucy is gonna have a field day. She will excommunicate all your followers who like cats (even if we’re allergic) and while she’s at it, probably all the dog lovers, too! You’ll have only prodents, food bloggers (Remy from Ratatouille), and the occasional Francophile following your blog. She’s probably clicking the “unfollow” and “delete” buttons as I type! Nooooooooooooo……….
You and your boy have been on Lucy’s poop list for awhile, I’m afraid.
“Celebrate Cats,” indeed!
I will do my best to undo any damage upon my return. Still, it wouldn’t hurt for you to make nice.
OK, we’ll extend our fuzzy paws and sprinkle a little detente around the little box.
that would be “litter”
I don’t care if it’s little or litter. I still hate you!
Dangit, Lucy! Get off the iPhone!
Have fun Mike! Looking forward to hearing about it.
Thanks, Sandee! I shall return with a full report.
Ooh fun fun fun! Miss you already…
Aww. Ain’t you sweet!
Disney World > Disneyland. I say it, so it’s so. Have a great time in Florida. Just sweat it off.
You are correct. Having been to both places, it is so. Many thanks, Silly!
Have fun in the land of mice – I’m looking forward to Lucy’s post, profanity and all!
Ugh. She just posted. Lies! Lies all!
Squeals!! Have FUN!!
Thanks, my friend!
My favorite place — hope you all have a ball! Work those Fast Passes!
Oh, I’ve been FastPassin’ from here to Fantasyland.
It’s been 13 years since we took our kids there. Hope you and your family have as much fun, or more, than we did! Have a great time! 🙂
Thanks so much, Susan! So far so good!
