As most of you know, I love to write about writing.
I also love to write about topics that interest you.
So let me drop the formalities and come right out and ask: Is there something you would like me to yammer about in a future post?
Drop me a comment and let me know. I can’t promise wisdom, but I can promise a feeble attempt in that general direction. Come to think of it, I can’t even promise that.
But, hey! Comment! Don’t be shy! We’re all friends here!
Whizzo Crunchy Frogs as the basis for a strong socio-economic culture.
Hm. This one looks like it might require research.
Albatross!
It’s not too late to suggest something else… Just sayin’.
Nope. I’m good, thanks.
Dang.
Stuffed Cat in the Hat toys. (And/or Banjos.)
Why, I am qualified to write about both of those things!
Now that’s spooky I was going to post a similar question on my blog this week…are we racing ?
Go ahead! We can share comments.
Sweet – thanks…we can link back & forth. Should be fun.
Hmmm, I actually want to have a think about this before I ask…I’ll get back to you in the morning:-)
I await your reply.
OK, here goes. There’s kinda three. I’d love to know more about what you read. I want to know what, beyond your family and loved ones, you would do everything in your power to protect. AND…I love your passion, so apart from writing and your family…is there anything else you’re really passionate about? Ok, 2 and 3 might overlap a little…oh, and if you’d like to explain the concept of time, or at least how you experience it, I’d be much obliged:-)
Some nice ideas, here. The reading one overlaps with Jilanne’s request, so I’ll tackle that one in my next post.
Sarah W has the best answer, I can’t possibly top that one. But on Vanessa’s blog the other day you were hinting at stories about times when you’ve deliberately scared people. I require those.
Fiiine. Adults or teenagers?
I’ll defer to you on this part: Author’s Choice.
It’s aways funny when you suddenly come across someone talking about you on another blog isn’t it! Funny in a good way I mean…on this occasion at least 🙂
Always in a good way about you, Vanessa!
Yes! Your nosy neighbors have a request. Open your house and show us your shelves! Call of the Siren (http://nickowchar.wordpress.com/2013/06/15/books-books-books-its-time-to-show-us-your-shelves/#comment-667) and I want to see what you’re made of—literally literaturely speaking. har! har!
I read this one in my email feed and I’m in.
Write about your DVD collection, and what draws you to certain stories. The profound, and the embarrassing stuff. 🙂
I like this one. I’m embarrassed by none of my DVDs, however. There isn’t a Saved By The Bell: The Complete Series to be found anywhere.
I just can’t believe how tidy your office is. Perhaps you could share your thoughts on avoiding clutter. :o)
Psst! The secret is OCD.
I’d like to know where the antique telephone in the corner of your office came from. And does it work?
Oh, it’s the real deal, Eagle Eye. That there is a gen-u-ine 1920 candlestick with a ring that’ll startle you into next week.
I would like a post about what you’re looking at on the ceiling please. That, or something about your favourite snacks.
Looking at the ceiling? Oh, I’m just saying hi to Murray the spider.
Fluff monkeys? Just kidding. Maybe about your road to getting published? Highlights, ups, downs, etc?
Covered much of my road to publication in past posts, I think. Anything in particular you’d like me to delve into?
I’d like to know if you play that banjo in the corner, whether you’ve ever tipped over backwards in your desk chair, if your office is truly always that tidy, and how come you have a Cat in the Hat but not Mickey Mouse?
Excellent questions, all. I shall tackle them in an upcoming post.
I would like a post on what really is the cat’s whiskers. Kthanksbye. Beth 🙂
I only speak about The Cat’s Pajamas. Will that suffice?
Yes, this shall suffice.
Consider it done.
Huzzah.
(or, your road to getting published… 😛 )
Long, long road, that. Anything in particular?
Hmm, I think how you got started. Would be interesting for those who would love to get published, but have no idea where to even start.
No prob.
I’ll read whatever you write, Mike…eventually! 😉 xoxoM
Oh, you!
Oooh! I like the earlier comment about what you read when you have free time (and even when you don’t). Also I like the post-playwriting-long (or short)-path-to-publishing idea. Also: what have you read lately that makes you think, “Wow. I really wish I had written that!” Maybe it’s an amazing line or an entire book. Inquiring minds want to know.
As always, Anne, I can count on you. I shall cover all of these topics in the near future.
On the ‘what do you read’ path, I’d like to hear your comments on why you won’t use an e-reader. I can understand about picture books/children’s books, but how about adult fiction? DO you read adult fiction, and if so, what are your favorite authors?
Do any of them live in New Jersey?
Ah, the e-reader! I have plenty of thoughts on that subject.
BTW: Will any Old School Paper Versions of you books be coming out soon?
As soon as you give me a really good reason for going old school…. :-0
So I can read your stories?
Working on it…..
A banjo? Now that is cool! Do you know anything about clawhammer?
Hiya, Professor! I’m a beginner on the banjo and have no experience with clawhammer yet; all of my practice is focused on the three-finger Scruggs style.
That’s cool! Banjo is a great instrument!
Summer reading list? A banjo video :0)
I don’t really do summer reading lists. I just grab a book when I need a book and go to town.
As for a banjo video? Never!
Never say never. I did have another idea. Get a mascot and have funny back and forth conversations with them about silly stuff in the news. That just came to me lol.
Mascot. Like a pet rat?
Yeah that’ll do 🙂
I’d love to hear about the process of getting a book published! And also, who are your favorite artists? 🙂 Thanks Mike!
I like these ideas! Gimmie time. I’ll post about ’em.
ALSO do you listen to any radio shows or podcasts? Any recommendations?
I’m not a podcast follower, but, as I have a long commute to my day job, I do very much enjoy listening to NPR.
I’m in a smidge of a writing funk. Not a writers block episode. One of those “ooh this is hard work and I don’t know if I can do it” kind of periods. I would like to hear your advice for getting through writing funky town.
And excellent post idea! But you are always filled with excellent ideas (and poop jokes). I shall tackle your query in a future post!
