I can’t imagine that hearing me talk would be of much interest to anyone, but in the off chance I’m mistaken, I have good news! You can register for a free, online panel discussion where I’ll be blathering about my new book, Pirate & Penguin!
The event, hosted by New York literary institution, Books of Wonder, will held on Sunday, May 28, at 1 p.m. (EST).
Sounds great doesn’t it?
Well, there are other authors there, too. Jack Wong, author/illustrator of When You Can Swim, and Erica Root, author/illustrator of Close To You From Far Away, are both wonderful (and wonderfully talented) people.
If you ask me, it’s well worth the price of admission. (Free.)
All you gotta do is sign up and enjoy! And there’s a livestream, so you can ask me a question! How does that sound? (Answer: Groovy.)
Just click here to register. Here’s hoping I’ll see you Sunday!
EDIT: 5/28
Well, that was fun! If you missed the event, no biggie! You can see the video here. (I read an except from the book in a pirate voice, so that’s something.)
Looking forward to it!
It was so nice to have you there! And a darn good question you asked!
I enjoyed seeing you in 3D! I know it’s best to have an agent. I’ve been fishing, no bites yet. Congrats on the sequel!
I’m looking for a new agent, too. But I did sell both Pirate & Penguin books without one, so, again, an agent isn’t essential, just an advantage.
I’m impressed with how much you have accomplished in the last couple of years. I recommended the library buy Pirate and Penguin👍🏻
Ha! Sounds like something I can’t miss!
I’m so glad you didn’t!
I’m in.
Yay!
I got called away so I didn’t see it live. I did listen to it later in the day, though. Nicely, done.
Glad you enjoyed it. I only listened to part of the recording as I do so hate to hear myself talk.
Wish I could Mik3. It sounds awesome. Unfortunately, we are traveling this weekend but I wish you all the luck that it goes well!! Happy Memorial Day weekend! ❤️
Well, you lucky gal, you can listen to the recording, if you’re so inclined. If I may say so, I was charming.
Fun! And how neat that you get to record your own audio book. I would like to do that someday. I’m surprised you can do it in your pantry and not some recording studio in NY or something. Maybe you should’ve held out for that. Swanky hotel, while you’re at it. 😉
The publisher of Scampers was such a tiny house, they didn’t have the resources to rent a studio. They just mailed me the equipment and told me to be mindful of any background noise.
Here’s hoping I can get a swanky hotel next time around…
That DIY method sounds far less stressful. I’d be down.
It was an honor to do it (even though I didn’t get paid…).
Wow. Really small publisher. Still, a cool thing to get to do!
Sorry I missed it! I would have loved to hear your pirate voice. I hope it was tons of fun, Mike. 😀
